The first thirty-two were printed in colour, the rest in black and white.

Most of the stories take place at Glenbeagles Golf Club where Tony is the under-14 champion. Other outdoor venues are his dad's garden (issue nos. 30, 31 and 44), his neighbour Alfie Dim's garden (no. 15), and a market garden. Issue no. 22 takes place over a football pitch, the local dump and a zoo.

In issue no. 12, the action is wholly indoors as Tony practices in his bedroom because of the rain. Two other stories take place at home (62 and 67).

In several stories he doesn't play golf. In issue no. 55 he plays cricket and snooker with Arnold. In issue nos. 70 and 73 he is seen at school. In the first story he kicks a try playing rugby, in the second he knocks out Mangler McDuff in a boxing match while demonstrating a golf swing to Arnold.

Hugh (of Hugh's Zoo) appeared in issue no. 11. The Bandshees appeared in issue no. 25.
First Ada appeared in issue no. 39. Plug appeared in issue no. 43.

Tony's Mum appeared in issue nos. 3, 8, 24, 41, his Dad appeared in issue nos. 20, 30, 62, as well as appearing together in issue nos. 44, 67 and 74.

Two cousins were seen: Hugo (issue no. 3) and Rupert (27).

The family dog was 'Towser', a retriever, first seen in issue no. 54 and fleetingly (one frame) in no. 64. The week before (no. 63) Tony had adopted a mouse as his "new pet."

Arnold Bampott appears in the very first story (second frame) in issue no. 1, and nos. 5, 7, 10, 14, 19, 33, 36, 37, 39, 40, 42, 45, 50, 58 (with Nick Jaklaus), 59, 60, 61, 64 ,69, 70 and 72 after that.

Three stories included (black and white) photos - issue no. 37 Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus (Tony and Arnold were ball markers), issue no. 45 (Gary Player), and issue no. 56 when Henry Cooper, Ronnie Corbett, James Hunt and Sean Connery took part in a celebrity tournament. A previous (and photo-less) celebrity tournament featured Gary Glimmer and Silverarchie, in issue 26.
