Speech Bubbles
Drawn by Phil Millar

70 appearances (over 70 pages) between issue no. 1 (18/01/75) and no. 87 (11/09/76).
Did not appear in issue nos. 18, 38, 39, 40, 43 to 48, 55, 56, 64, 69, 70, 73 and 82.
All were printed in black and white.

What does it say on the tin (or in that rhyming couplet at the top of the first page)?
“Things are sure to go wrong – when Ed comes along.”

Poor Ed always tries to do the right thing, but his clumsiness ensures that almost all his endeavours end in disaster.

The hand-drawn lettering gives the strip an old-fashioned feel. Nine stories – three near the beginning (issues nos. 1,7, and 10) and the last six (81 and 83 to 87) – had printed lettering.
